Thoughts on a Pearl Earring Collection is a milestone for Agas & Tamar, a gathering built around one of the most perfect, mysterious and inscrutable objects – the pearl. A pearl represents mysterious, natural and rare formal perfection. It has the cultural associations of tradition, family history and the idea of the heirloom. It is a classically elegant and feminine object. Its perfection, and the fact that it is so rich, were the starting points for the journey of formulating designs for the collection.
